| HOW YOU CAN HELP FREEDOM FEST |
| Freedom Fest, Inc. is a non-profit organization. The committee members donate their time. The money that is needed to put on Freedom Fest each year is made by doing fund-raisers and by donations. The committee works all year long to raise the money needed for each Freedom Fest. Freedom Fest sponsors several fund-raisers each year, such as: spaghetti suppers, fried chicken dinners, motorcycle shows, motorcycle poker runs, bake sales, etc. We also go around to businesses in the area and ask for donations. These donations can be monetary, items for auction, services or volunteer time. The cost of Freedom Fest this year will be around $20,000. It varies from year to year depending on what speakers and entertainers we have each year. We start from zero each year. Most of the entertainers and speakers donate their time. However, we still have to cover their expenses. This includes transportation, lodging and meals. We also have to pay for some of the special activities that we bring in each year. Because Skidmore is a town of only 300 people, it gets harder and harder to raise money at our local fund-raisers. You can only do so much in such a small area. This is why we are asking for your help. |
